Stephenson Halliday has worked closely with architects Mason Gillibrand in preparing a masterplan and detailed landscape concept proposals for the extension of the hotel and leisure facilities at Low Wood Bay, Windermere, UK.

The proposals entailed designing the external areas surrounding the new buildings and access roads, including the bedroom accommodation, atrium and multi-use sport pitch and the redesign of other existing areas, such as the hotel frontage and outdoor spa. The project was part of a planning performance agreement with the National Park Authority because of its scale and complexity. Stephenson Halliday was part of a multidisciplinary team of architects, arboriculturists and cultural heritage and transport consultants to produce the final proposals submitted as part of the planning application.
