Stephenson Halliday worked with CEMEX to develop a working and restoration scheme for an extension to a limestone quarry on the northern edge of the Lake District National Park, UK.

The design process was landscape led, integrating the findings of a landscape and visual assessment into the working and restoration schemes. Our planning and environmental impact assessment (EIA) team liaised with Cumbria County Council and coordinated all the EIA work. The full suite of supporting documentation included an environmental statement, a needs assessment, a planning statement and planning drawings, resulting in a successful decision.
