Stephenson Halliday coordinated an EIA for a warehouse unit (about 70,000 m2) in Wakefield, UK, for Next.

The proposed warehouse would be next to a Next distribution centre and connected by an enclosed double-deck bridge. An EIA scoping exercise was undertaken with the local planning authority and relevant consultees and relevant environmental issues were identified. The environmental statement (ES) included an assessment of landscape and visual amenity, ecology, cultural heritage, transport, noise, air quality, soil, water, ground conditions and socio-economic effects. In addition to coordinating the ES, Stephenson Halliday conducted the landscape and visual assessment and prepared the landscape masterplan.
