Stephenson Halliday coordinated the environmental statement to accompany the planning application for a major 25-year extension of a limestone quarry.

We carried out a detailed assessment of the landscape and visual effects of the proposal, which informed the development of the phased method of working and enabled mitigation measures to be designed as an integral part of the quarrying process. Effects within the Lake District National Park were a key consideration. Digital terrain modelling and computer-generated photomontages illustrated the impacts of the development.
