What are you looking for from your first job in Landscape Architecture…

  • To join an award winning landscape architecture practice?
  • To work alongside and learn from industry leaders and experts?
  • To work on and deliver exciting and prestigious sustainable developments that are helping to combat and mitigate climate change?

Stephenson Halliday offer all of the above and much more.

We are a leading environmental, planning, landscape architecture and design consultancy with multiple offices in England and Scotland and currently employ around 50 landscape architects nationwide working on a wide and varied range of landscape planning, design and management projects. Our landscape architects complement a wider team of town planners, EIA consultants, visualisation experts and GIS managers.

Join our team

We’re looking to recruit post-graduate and year in industry landscape architects and for most posts we are flexible on location. At the moment, we’re especially interested in talking to candidates who may be attracted to a career in landscape planning or landscape management, but we’re generally keen to talk to all graduates to discuss what you can bring to our business.

Depending on your skills and interests, as a graduate, you might find yourself assisting with the LVIA for one of the largest renewable energy projects in the UK; contributing to strategic landscape guidance for a local authority; delivering nature based solutions and regenerative design approaches for a new development; overseeing the implementation of new planting on site; developing restoration proposals for a former quarry; or developing management plans and overseeing the  landscape management of a large Government estate. These are just a few examples and the tip of the iceberg in terms of our current workload.

Have a look at our built development page to see the types of projects you could be working on.

We have a strong history of hiring, retaining and rewarding talented and committed people. From graduates to directors, we look for ambition, enthusiasm and dedication when investing in new talent. We support individuals throughout their careers, providing coaching and mentoring to candidates on the Landscape Institute’s Pathway to Chartership.
