Panattoni wanted to achieve reserved matters consent for a six unit logistics scheme in Burgess Hill, Sussex. Stephenson Halliday was appointed to produce an Landscape and Visual Assessment (LVA) for the proposed scheme assessing it against a set of approved parameters and outline LVA produced for the site.
Stephenson Halliday was also commissioned for the landscape design, producing a detailed scheme and providing landscape input into the development of the site masterplan. The site contained a significant number of mature trees around the perimeter of the development plots, group company RSK Biocensus provided arboricultural input into the project and advised on tree constraints. The provision of new and upgraded visual screens were key to getting the scheme approved as was the incorporation of acoustic mitigation measures in the landscape design.
Stephenson Halliday has been retained to oversee the phased implementation of the soft landscape.
